About Gina
Welcome!
My name is Regina Maier-Manuel, though most families know me simply as Gina. I have been a licensed family child care provider in the State of Maryland since 2003, following a rewarding career with the Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital. I hold a B.A. in Recreation from Salisbury University and bring decades of hands-on experience nurturing and guiding children in both professional and personal settings.
Child care truly runs in my family. My parents owned and operated a large child care center in Maryland for more than 23 years, and I grew up immersed in the values of safety, learning, and community that remain at the heart of my program today.
As a mother of two and a devoted aunt, I understand firsthand the importance of dependable, high-quality care. My goal is to provide a warm, welcoming environment where children feel secure, supported, and inspired to learn. Families often describe my program as a “home away from home” — a place where children are cared for with the same love and attention I give my own.
At Home Away From Home Family Child Care, I believe every child deserves:
A safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment
Opportunities to learn at their own pace
Positive social and emotional support
Daily communication between families and provider
“I value each child as an individual, respecting their unique needs, abilities, and interests.”
— Gina, Owner of Home Away from Home Family Childcare
